EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011, ALL APPLICATIONS FOR RUSSIAN VISAS SUBMITTED IN THE UNITED STATES
SHOULD BE PREPARED USING THE ELECTRONIC VISA APPLICATION FORM WHICH IS A WEB-BASED
APPLICATION, AVAILABLE ONLINE AT
RUSSIAN VISA APPLICATIONS PREPARED USING THE OLD FORMAT OR IN A DIFFERENT WAY WILL NOT
BE ACCEPTED AFTER JULY 1, 2011.
To apply for a Russian Entry Visa the following paperwork must be submitted to our office:
1. ORIGINAL NATIONAL PASSPORT. It must be signed and valid for at least six months after the date of departure from Russia. NOTE: You will need to have at least one blank Visa page in your passport for the consulate to stamp your visa.
2. Completed and signed official visa application form issued by the Russian Consulate.
NOTE: each applicant must submit a separate form.

- Place to stay in Russia: always put any HOTEL in the city you are visiting, even if you are staying with friends, relatieves etc., since you are applying for a tourist visa.
Please also note that a tourist visa can be granted for up to 30 calendar days. You don't have to put the exact dates of your trip but can take a 30-day period and indicate it on your application form.

3. One standard passport-size picture (white background) of the applicant (35 mm X 45 mm (1 3/8" X 1 3/4") with the head centered in the frame.
4. Self-addressed, prepaid FedEx envelope or any other express mail envelope. We recommend to send all paperwork via FedEx;
5. One payment check or money order payable to Russian National Group View Visa fees
Important: the copy of the birth certificate and copies of both parents' passports (first page) are required for the children under 18 years old.
Please note: for a working or a student visa you must submit HIV Test (AIDS) Certificate. For a multiple entry buisness visa you must submit two visa application forms and two photos (HIV Test is Not needed).
A multiple entry business visa allows nationals of all countries to stay in Russia up to 90 days out of the period of 180 days.
On the basis of reciprocity, citizens of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland should submit national medical coverage certificate valid for Russia or guarantee of medical coverage from a Russian hosting organization for all period of stay.
The Russia-EU Visa processing fees are changed for the citizens of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
The fees introduced are:
* For all types of visa (including multiple entry) for 10 days processing - $50 (consulate fee) + $50 (processing fee) Total: $100
* For all types of visa (including multiple entry) for urgent (3 days) processing - $100 (consulate fee) + $50 (processing fee) Total: $150
Holders of diplomatic passports of the mentioned countries will not need a visa to enter Russia for 90 days.
However these provisions are not valid for the countries which did not sign the Agreement: the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark, as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland which are not EU member states and did not sign the Agreement with Russia.
For a double entry tourist visa you should submit a copy of the tickets for the whole itinerary.
Applicants who used to be citizens of the USSR or Russian Federation and then emigrated from the USSR or Russia must submit one of the documents which confirms that they are no longer citizens of the Russian Federation (so called "Visa to Israel" or stamp in their passport saying that they left for "permanent residence abroad" before the 6th of February,1992 or official document certifying that their Russian citizenship was renounced), otherwise the application will no be accepted.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT REGISTERING RUSSIAN VISAS:
Russian visas must be registered within the first 3 business days after your arrival. This can be done either at your hotel free of charge OR at our downtown Moscow or St. Petersburg offices on the spot. Registration fee is $60. We will send you registration instructions with your issued visa.

Your application will be checked and hand-carried to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York the next business morning after we receive it. We shall mail it to you the day we retrieve it from the Consulate within the established processing times plus transit time to and from RNG.
Please be aware that a FINAL decision regarding obtaining visa to Russia would be left up to the Consulate.
